When I’m Sad

Whenever I’m sad, I find comfort in knowing that’s its only temporary.  All negative thoughts, feelings and emotions will pass.  Happiness will inevitably return.  At some point the happiness will pass as well.  But the true comfort is knowing that when happiness leaves you, IT ALWAYS COMES BACK.  Its never lost for long.

The breathings of your heart…

You must love and respect the power of a pen and a blank piece of paper.  It stares up at you, daring you to share your innermost thoughts, feelings, fears, and doubts.

It begs you to give it a purpose, to fill it with the words that only you can write and that only it can hold.

A letter to the past….

Dear Past Me —-

You’ve made it this far, and even though at moments we question it, sanity is still intact. Who would’ve thought, right????

Be prepared for some seriously rough spots, but keep your head up, because even though you’re gonna hurt, and doubt, and at times be tempted to throw in the towel, know that the good times, are gonna be GREAT TIMES.

You are gonna meet amazing people, you’ll lose touch with some, but a few will be there for the long haul. Cherish every moment with every one.

Trust your instincts. You doubt yourself too often, or ignore your gut in order to avoid rocking the boat. TO HELL WITH THE BOAT AND WORRIES ABOUT WAVES!!!!! Follow what your heart tells you, no matter what.

Hold your head up high, trust me, you’ve earned it.

No day, but today…

There is no future, there is no past, I live this moment as my last. —Rent, the musical

Recent events in my life have reminded me how precious life is. And how its easily ended abruptly, without warning or explanation. None of us are guaranteed a tomorrow.

And with that, I say, or rather I shout from the rooftops, LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE ANYTHING LESS THAN HAPPY!!!!

Any given moment may be the last. To truly think about this, it seems morbid, or depressing. But it’s truth. All we really have is the here and now, this very moment, make the most of it. Make it the best moment of your life if possible.

While on this topic I must say that life is too short for regrets as well… Why regret anything in life?

In that moment, yes you may over think, over analyze, and obsess over which path to take when you stumble across that infamous (and very much inevitable) fork in the road.

But take a step back and give it thought, really think about previous experiences with regret. Think about the last time you were faced with one of those forks, obviously a choice was made. And if it resulted in feelings of regret— what is it that you regretted, what you did, or what you didn’t do????? I know in my life the things I didn’t do, words I didn’t say, those are the things I end up regretting down the road.

So why do we stress??? STOP STRESSING! Put an end to all fears, doubts and freak outs. It’s your life, you’re the one that has to live it. Trust yourself.

You know what you want and need better than anyone. Follow your heart and have faith in what you feel. Pay attention to the world that surrounds you. The universe will nudge you in the right direction if you’re willing to let it.

Regardless have faith in lifes way of working itself out. It may not be exactly as you hope. But it’ll still be okay. Keep positive thoughts.

The bad in life won’t last forever. Because one of the few guarantees in life is that nothing stays the same. Everything changes. And life goes on.
